One way to increase traffic on your blog is to make it fast. If your blog is too slow then no one would come to your blog. So, here is the best tutorial to speed up your WordPress blog:-
1. Goto this link and check your website’s speed. Once it displays the speed then save it somewhere you can find it later.
2. Remove all unnecessary plugins in your blog.
3. Remove all unnecessary PHP tags, unneccessary spaces and unneccessary scripts in your blog’s theme. For example, your would change <?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?> to your blog’s title/name. Pro Blog Design has a list of the most common unneeded PHP tags which you can replace with the guide.
4. Download & install the following plugins:-
WP Super Cache – It generates html files that are served directly by Apache without processing comparatively heavy PHP scripts. If you use it then it will make your WordPress blog very fast.
WP-Optimize – It allows you to run a optimize command on your WordPress database within your WordPress Dashboard and not by manually doing it by phpMyAdmin. If you run the command frequently then it will surely speed up your WordPress blog.
5. Compress all the images in your theme. You can easily do it by uploading them to smush.it. Once you have uploaded them, smush.it will automatically display the compressed images and you can easily download them in a zip file.
6. Compress your theme’s CSS files by using an online tool called CSS Drive. Select the options Super Compact and Strip All Comments.
