Remove "- Shortcut" Suffix for any Shortcut File Created in Windows Vista & 7
Whenever we create a shortcut in Windows Vista or 7, “- Shortcut” suffix is added in the file or folder’s name. For example, if you create a shortcut for a EXE file named as ABC, you will see that the shortcut’s name is “ABC - Shortcut”.
So, if you want to remove it just download this REG file and merge it.
Alternatively, it can also be done by modifiying the Windows Registry. Just follow the few steps to do that:
1. Type “regedit” in Run or Start Menu.
2. Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
3. On the right side, look for a key named “link“.
4. Double click on it and change the value to “00 00 00 00“.
That’s it. Restart your PC for changes to take place. If you would like to undo it, you can change the value back to “15 00 00 00″ or download this REG file and merge it.
