Change Default Program Files Folder Path to your Desired Path
If your Windows is installed in C: drive and whenever you install new softwares, the default installation path is “C:Program Files”. If want to change it to “D:Program Files”, instead of changing the path manually each time, you could also make it the default installation path.
To change the default installation path, just follow the steps below:
1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion.
2. At the right side, look for ProgramFilesDir.
3. Double-Click on it and change it to your desired path. (For example, change C:Program Files to D:Program Files)
4. Click OK to save the setting.
That’s it. The default installation path has been changed and now whenever you will install new softwares, the default path would be the one you had changed.
