Show Internet Explorer 8 Menu Bar at the Top
April 26th, 2009 - Hacks, Tips & Tricks, Internet Explorer
In Internet Explorer 8, the menu bar appears below the address bar by default and some of you might want to show the menu bar at the top of the address bar, just like in Mozilla Firefox:-

To do it, you will just have to merge this small registry file and the menu bar will appear at the top of the address bar:-

Alternatively, you can also edit the Registry to do it:-
1. Type “regedit” in run or start menu.
2. Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser
3. Right-click in the right side pane and select New ->DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name it “ITBar7Position”
4. Double-click on it and type “1” in the Value Data box.
That’s it. Now the menu bar will appear above the address bar in Internet Explorer.
If you want to show the menu bar below the address bar again then remove the DWORD value you have created in Step 3 or download this registry file and merge it.
NOTE: If the Menu Bar is at the top of the address bar, the transparency will be gone in Internet Explorer.
